Are you an artist looking to take your craft to the next level? From classes and workshops to outreach programs and gallery experiences, there are plenty of advantages to becoming a member of an art group in York County. Artist memberships are valid from July 1 to June 30 and can be renewed annually. Not only is this a great way to stay connected with the art community, but it's also tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Classes are held weekly on the same day and at the same time for several weeks. We offer a variety of media and levels for all artists, so no matter your skill level, you'll find something that works for you. Our seasonal sessions (winter, spring, summer, fall) start with 8-week classes and then the workshops last 4 weeks. During the summer months, the YAA offers workshops for adults in June and August, in order to provide space for art camps for children during the month of July.

In addition to art classes and camps, outreach programs, and gallery experiences, Creative York also offers a variety of possibilities for more advanced artists. This includes opportunities to rock and feed babies, participate in excursions, unleash their creativity with an art project, and much more. Creative York is committed to fostering the York County artist community by presenting opportunities for professional and collaborative growth. By participating in Arts Council events, you understand and agree that your photograph or image may be taken in any public place.

Anyone who agrees with the objectives of the Association, who wishes to support the visual arts, or who wishes to participate as an artist, can become a member by submitting an application for membership and paying dues. Michal Gavish is a multimedia artist and art writer who shares his time between New York City and Washington DC. He earned his master's degree in painting from the San Francisco Institute of Art and his doctorate in physical chemistry from New York University. His work can be found in public and private collections in Munich, Budapest, New York, North Carolina, London, Israel and Washington DC.

He has exhibited in solo exhibitions at the Budapest Museum in Hungary, The Delaware Contemporary, LIU in Brooklyn, Garrison NY, BlackRock MD, the SFMOMA Artist Gallery, and the Sandra Lee Gallery in San Francisco. Met Friends groups contribute to new acquisitions and programs in specific departments of the museum and provide an opportunity to establish relationships with curators and patrons in a behind-the-scenes environment.
